The first wedding present made it's way to Germany!!!! Crista & Adam Reed gave us a thermal french press from William's Sonoma!!!! What they probably don't realize, is that we have been DYING to purchase one of these for the past 8 months.... and had to refrain (husband literally holding my hands back) from buying one in the hopes that someone would purchase this from our registry. We are so thankful at their kindness and want them to know this gift is already well in use and will continue to be for many every year to come in our marriage!
This was how it started. Look at us. So excited!!! So happy!!! So very ready for anything that's going to hit us. If only we had known that staying the night at the airport is not fun. Zero. Fun. Sir.
Both of us did an awesome job of trying to stay positive as we hopped from terminal to terminal on the monorail in our attempts to stay awake. but by 5:00 AM we were hurting. The german airport folks don't even let you into the waiting area for your gate until 20 minutes before you board the plane. What is that all about?
We finally board the tiny aircraft and poor D barely fits into the seat with his long legs. We're both just so grateful to be sitting in a semi comfortable chair that we pass out. and don't realize that our plane was delayed on the ground for 1.5 hours until we're 45 minutes from landing. ha! Corfu airport is crazy small. Which makes sense because it's a small island. We made contact with the trip company and they directed us to our transportation and off we went through the island of Corfu to the resort. Now might be a good time to mention how delirious we both are. This trip was a blur. It was around 8:40 AM and we had only had about an hour of sleep apiece. It felt like we were on the bus for an hour... come to find out later it was a 20 minute ride. Arriving at the hotel we are so psyched!!! We can hardly wait to get our room keys and climb into bed for the best nap of all time. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready for several hours due to check out time being around noon. Did we fret? Not a chance.... The hotel set us up in the bar area with free drinks! Woo hoo!!!! This was all we needed to convert to Island time...
Nothing like an Mojito and a Singapore Sling to get your happiness flowing! The mojito's here were excellent. seriously. It ended up being my drink of choice for the rest of the trip in addition to pinapple juice + Malibu.
See how happy we are?!? Those are tired but content smiles if I ever saw them. (:
When our room was finally ready we headed that direction with our suitcases not really sure what kind of a room we were in store for. This was our room.... #828. Where we will always stay if when we go back to this resort! It was amazing!!!
We did some exploring around the resort after a much needed nap. It had already gotten fairly late in the evening by then and we were content to hit the restaurant for dinner and call it a day. We were fortunate enough to have breakfast delivered to our room the next morning! It was soooo excited. The food here was fantastic!!!! And after those precious months of watching what you eat to fit into your wedding dress, it was nice to finally be able to eat until my tummy was content!
This so reminds me of the breakfasts our house mom used to make us in Seville, Spain. D & I were pumped! So this ends today's post of the trek to Greece and the beginnings of our honeymoon. Stay tuned tomorrow for more pictures and stories such as my epic bleeding episode, the dessert plates, sunset vs sunrise, & snorkeling adventures!
I hope everyone has a beautiful Monday! All my love!
Time out. Did you have your own private pool? How is that even FAIR!
